Opera

Soprano Stephanie Hollenberg inhabits her stage characters with vividness and tenderness—and a good dose of humor. In past seasons Stephanie has sung the roles of Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro), Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), and Papagena (Die Zauberflöte). A lover of the magical worlds that opera creates, Stephanie also considers it a privilege to sing the stories of people whose voices are often silenced or forgotten, shining their light and wrestling with their darkness.

“Stephanie Hollenberg absolutely stole the show as Cherubino, bringing a pluck to the character that makes him even more endearing than usual.” - Schmopera

Concerts & Recitals

Stephanie performs intimate and interactive recitals of art song and musical theater. Before the onset of COVID-19, this included a monthly residency at Waterstone at the Circle senior living center in Boston. If you’d like to host a recital in your home, school, or company, please reach out on the Inquiries form.

Performance Projects

Every December, Stephanie shares holiday cheer across Greater Boston with the company Songful Artists, an innovative a cappella group that sings both classic and contemporary arrangements of old holiday favorites. Get in touch to bring Songful Artists carolers to your holiday party!

Stephanie performs alongside pianist Diane Braun with Music Street, bringing high level Classical music performances to audiences at Rosie’s Place, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospitals, retirement homes, and more.

Other projects have included performing with Sonic Blossom, an art exhibit at the Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum (pictured above), exploring the gifting of song.

Voice Studio

Stephanie maintains a private voice studio, in which she works with singers of all vocal levels and genres. Classically trained, Stephanie’s aim is to help singers find vocal freedom and joy in their singing. Please head to the Inquiries page for more information.

“Stephanie is a wonderful voice instructor! I can already notice a significant difference in the way I approach singing. She allows you to bring your goals to the table and meets you exactly where you're at. Her price is beyond reasonable and she has been nothing but responsive and punctual. Definitely give the trial lesson a shot, you will not regret it!” — John, 25

Taizé Services of Prayer

An experienced leader of Taizé Services of Prayer, Stephanie regularly leads services for various worshipping communities. Currently, the Swedenborg Chapel in Harvard Square (Cambridge, MA) hosts a Taizé service every first Tuesday of the month, co-led by Stephanie, Luke Concannon, and Reverend Sage Cole. In this 45-minute candle-lit service, we create a space for gatherers to seek communion with the Divine through community prayer, song, and silence.

The Taizé service of prayer is music-centered, using contemporary chants with short texts that are sung again and again, inviting individuals to meditate on the texts, deepen into them, pray through them. There is also a period of silence for personal reflection. All peoples and faith traditions are welcome.

Please use the Inquiries form to inquire about hosting a Taizé service in your community.
